Cato eBook Formats
Many books and publications from the Cato Institute are available as eBooks in several different formats. When purchasing a Cato eBook, a zip file will be saved to your Cato Account, which you can then download to access the eBook in multiple formats.
Kindle Users: From the zip file, you will want to use the MOBI file. This file can be transferred to your Kindle in one of two ways: direct transfer (plugging your Kindle into your computer and then manually transferring the file to your Kindle folder) or by emailing the file to your Amazon Kindle email address.
iPad Users: From the zip file, you can use either the EPUB file or the PDF file. To view through iBooks, you need to add the EPUB file to your iTunes Library and then sync your device. You can view the PDF file by a file transfer or through email. Please note that in order to download the zip file to your iPad, you will need a zip file app.
Other eReaders: From the zip file, transfer the EPUB file directly to your device.
Desktop users: You can view all three file types on your desktop: PDF (any PDF reader will work), EPUB (Adobe Digital Editions), or MOBI (MobiPocket Reader).
